Taliwork
plans to venture into the construction market amid the Malaysian
government’s concerted effort in rolling out infrastructure
projects under the Ninth Malaysia Plan.
In view of this, Taliworks formed the Construction
& Engineering Division, which was timely, following the
securing of the RM149 million Padang Terap Water Supply Project
in Kedah in August 2006. The project encompasses a water treatment
plant with a capacity of 50 million litres per day. It is
implemented on a turnkey design-and-build basis to be completed
within 30 months.
In early 2006, the Division successfully
completed the RM120 million Central Kedah Water Supply Project,
which is currently operated at a design capacity of 55 million
litres per day. It not only supplies water to the vicinity
of the Central Kedah areas but also to Yan and Sarang Semut.
On October 2007, the Division was awarded
sub-contract works with respect to the proposed flood mitigation
project in the Klang Valley for RM22 million under Package
Sungai Damansara (Package 1).
